Mountain View mural for a home gym
Faringdon

This mural - for a gym room in a private home in Faringdon - was a little different to my usual hyper colourful style, but I really enjoyed painting it.  Who knows, maybe I might be entering a more subtle, sophisticated stage of my career?  (ah, who am I kidding? :D )

My brief for this one was to paint a striking view of Striding Edge and Red Tarn in the Lake District - a location with particular meaning to the client couple - in a monochrome colour scheme to match the rest of the walls in the room (Farrow & Ball Inchyra Blue - in case you were wondering - lovely colour!).  The idea being that they have something nicer to look at while working out than just a plain wall.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out, it definitely makes a statement!

This one is all brush, no spray paints this time (except for the tiniest bit of transparent white aerosol used to soften the clouds)

Timelapse video is at the bottom of the page.

Some work in progress shots, plus, as ever, me for scale:

A couple of the photos of Striding Edge and Red Tarn that I used for reference (I enjoyed the challenge to come up with a design in monochrome of this usually very green view, but keeping it recognisable):
